Established in 2013, the Department of Commerce (SF) is presently enriched with 13 Lecturers. Our Department provides courses like Masters of Commerce ( M.Com ) and Bachelors of Commerce (B.Com) specializing in two relevant areas like Taxation and Capital Market, the most thriving courses in the field of Education. It helps the students to gain theoretical and practical skills needed to deal with real-life business situations and transform themselves into young entrepreneurs in this fast-changing innovative world. The course also enhances students with skills and knowledge in verbal and interpersonal communication, critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills

The Commerce (Self Financing) Department proudly stands as the largest department in our college, boasting an impressive strength of 430 dedicated students. This distinction not only underscores the department’s popularity and the high demand for the course. With a vibrant community of aspiring professionals, our department continues to be a beacon of academic excellence and a hub for nurturing future leaders in the commerce sector.
Commerce (Self Financing Department) offers a rigorous curriculum designed to equip students with essential skills in accounting, finance, business management, and entrepreneurship. The department is providing B.com (Hons.) with integrated ACCA, B.Com (Hons.) with electives in Finance and taxation and Capital Market. The department also provides post-graduation in Commerce with Finance as the main stream.
The integration of ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) with B.Com (Hons.) provides students with an opportunity to earn a globally recognized professional qualification alongside their undergraduate degree. This dual qualification enhances their employability and opens doors to international career opportunities. B.Com (Hons.) with electives in Finance and Taxation, and Capital Market options allow students to tailor their education based on their specific interests and career goals within the broader field of commerce.
Some of the best practices implemented at Commerce SF department include Professional Certifications Integration, Industry Engagements( The Department have 5 MOU’S with Chartered accounting firms), Experiential Learning( Compulsory internships for all the second year students, field projects for all the final year students, field visit and industrial visit for all first years) , Offering Entrepreneurship development programs such as CAMPUS PEEDIKA which promotes innovation and intiative among students within the department leading them from campus to commerce. Thus they can earn while learning. Initiatives like “Campus Peedika” demonstrates a commitment to fostering entrepreneurial spirit, practical skill development, interdisciplinary collaboration, all of which are essential components of preparing students for successful careers in commerce and entrepreneurship. Commerce self-finance department facilitates opportunities for faculty members to collaborate with peers from other institutions or departments who are expertise in related areas. We engage in organizing faculty exchange programs (Recently done with Providence college, Conoor, Tamil Nadu) joint research projects (with other disciplines from the college itself) or guest lectures by visiting faculty.
