As part of Cyber Jagrukta Week initiated by the Kerala Police, the Department of Cyber
Security and Applied Computing, in collaboration with the Student Union, organized a Cyber
Awareness Session on “Building a Cyber-Safe Culture” on 13th November 2025 at the
Platinum Jubilee Auditorium, Arts Block.
The session aimed to create awareness among students about online safety, responsible digital
behavior, and preventive measures against cyber threats.
The event began with a warm welcome by the emcee Ms. Krishnapriya Vinod from the
Department of Cyber Security and Applied Computing, who introduced the theme and
significance of the session as part of the ongoing Cyber Jagrukta Week celebrations across
Kochi.
The programme commenced with a prayer led by Ms. Elna and Ms. Ansteena from BCA 2nd
year, invoking blessings for a successful session. This was followed by the Welcome Address
delivered by Ms. Nitya R. Nair from BCA 3rd year, who extended heartfelt greetings to the
dignitaries, faculty, and students present.
The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of our Principal, Dr. Anu Joseph, and
our Director, Rev. Sr. Tessa CSST, whose support and encouragement have always been a
guiding force for the department.
The highlight of the day was the Cyber Awareness Session, initially scheduled to be handled
by Shri Aneesh Joy, Inspector of Police, Central Police Station, Ernakulam. Owing to official
commitments, the session was delivered by Shri Jithin Babu from the Cyber Police, Ernakulam,
who provided an engaging and informative presentation on the theme “Building a Cyber-Safe
Culture.”
He emphasized the importance of personal data protection, password hygiene, safe social
media practices, and the role of youth in promoting a cyber-aware society. The interactive
session helped students understand real-life cybercrime scenarios and preventive strategies.
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Ms. Fenna from BCA 3rd year, expressing gratitude to
the Kerala Police, college management, Head of the Department Dr. Archana, faculty members,
and students for their cooperation and participation.
The event concluded with a collective reminder that cyber safety begins with individual
responsibility, encouraging everyone to stay alert, informed, and ethical in their digital
presence.
