| St. Maria Goretti Public School, Nettoor was the school approved for the Department of Chemistry for TROP activities for the academic year, 2015-16. Smt. Derry Holaday M.G., Faculty member of the chemistry department was entrusted the charge of TROP coordinator of the Department for the academic year.Inauguration of TROP activities of the department of Chemistry for the year 2015-16 was done by Dr. Geetha Andrews, HOD of Chemistry on 10th Sept 2015 at St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam. Awareness about environmental pollution was held on the same day using powerpoint presentation on Environmental pollution & protection by Ms.Snehamol of III DC Chemistry. A workshop on organic farming was also conducted to make students conscious about the importance of organic farming.To motivate students to organic farming they were taken for a visit to the organic farm maintained by 3rd year students as part of TROP . A.P. J. Abdul Kalam memorial essay competition was conducted for students of St. Maria Goretti School to inspire students by understanding Dr. Kalam’s views on environment. There was also a demonstration of ‘Bhoomitra sena sanchi’ made out of recycled cloth, by nature club members to discourage the use of plastic carry bags.Students of St. Maria Goretti school also attended the talk on Cyber Crime Awareness Programme by Sri Francis Perera, Inspector of Police ( Rtd), organized by the department of Chemistry. Awareness against cyber crimes Science block 10th October 2015On 27th Feb 2016 ,III DC and II DC Chemistry students went for TROP activity at Maria Goretti Public school, Nettoor. To make students aware about consequences of drug addiction a talk on ‘Drug Addiction’ was conducted. A workshop on waste management and clay modeling was also conducted in association with the Valedictory function of TROP 2015-16 .
