The Department of Psychology in association with Kerala Legal Sevices Authority conducted awareness classes on Cyber Crime in various schools in Ernakulam District throught out the month of Feb 2020. The sessions were organized in St. Paul’s International School, Morello Public School, St. Antony’s HSS and Global Public School. A total of 300 students participated in the same from the above schools. The aim of the program was to educate the students about the dangers or internet and cyber crimes. The topics covered included cyber bullying, online grooming, defamation, online games and internet safety. The 2nd DC students from the department engaged the sessions along with lawyers from KLSA. The sessions were well received as the participants reported that they gained an understanding on how to use social media platforms safely and responsibly as well as to keep their personal data safe from cyber crimes. The students were also educated on how to use Cyber Cell when in a crisis situation.
