The Department of Home Science organized an awareness class on ‘Learning Disabilities’, by Ms.Pushpa Mathew, Remedial teacher, Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir,Girinagar. The talk was given to the II B.Sc. Home Science students on 13/11/2018.

The workshop briefed on the poor school performance and the various causes associated to it. Physical problems (Vision, hearing), epilepsy, delay in the milestones of brain development, mental retardation, slow learning, specific delays of academic skills due to learning disabilities, inattentiveness, hyperactivity, impulsiveness, emotional and conduct disorder, psychological issues like anxiety, worries about personal life and depression were explained as some of the causes of learning disability.
