Session on Creative Writing

A session on Creative Writing was held in association with the Writer’s Forum. Tanya Abraham, the Creative Art Director of Kashi Art Gallery, Kochi and Founder-Director of The Art Outreach Society (TAOS) held activity oriented session on story building. (22 Jul 2016)

‘Road Map to Journalism’  

On November 17, NSS Wing of the College in collaboration with the Department of Communicative English organized a Workshop on ‘Road Map to Journalism’ to commemorate National Journalism Day. The Chief Guest for the day, Mr. Chandrakanth Viswanath, Spl. Correspondent at The New Indian Express, had an interactive session with the audience and he stressed the importance of a healthy media for a healthy society. Ms. Meena Diwakar, Publisher and Independent Journalist, chaired the second session and she gave insights to Conflict Journalism and Peace Journalism.

Advertising and Digital Marketing

The Department organized a session on ‘Advertising and Digital Marketing’ for the final year students on November 29th. The session was held by representatives from Buzzstop Integrated Communications Pvt. Ltd., an advertising agency.

At the Kochi Muziris Biennale

25 students of the department along with a faculty member participated in the Art Workshop conducted by Ms Jayanthi Moorthy as part of A.I.R. Gallery’s exhibit Cooperative Consciousness at the Kochi Biennale. The workshop conducted on  Jan 11 focused on creating a space for artistically inclined youth to come together around shared goals of art making, exploration, experimentation, and community building.

On 18th February 2017, nine students attended a talk conducted by Geetha Narayanan, Founder Director of Srishti Institute of Art Design & Technology at Cabral Yard, Fort Kochi as part of Kochi biennale. Following the talk, Narendra Raghunath, visual media artist and Faculty at Srishti Institute, familiarized the students on how to read and appreciate the Biennale artists’ installations at Aspin Wall, Fort Kochi.
