The Department of Botany and Centre for Research and Department of History jointly organized a talk on Traditional Medicines: Historical and Botanical Perspectives by Dr. Kavitha (BAMS), Deputy Medical Officer, Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala, Ernakulam Branch on 12/02/2024, Friday at 10 am, Audiovisual room, Science Block. Ms. Sameena of I PG Botany Welcomed the gathering. Ms. Maneesha Nath of II PG Botany introduced the speaker. The session emphasized the historical evolution of Ayurvedic medicine, delving into its botanical significance and practical applications. Dr. Kavitha also discussed specific remedies for certain ailments, shedding light on the vital role of particular medicinal plants, fostering a deeper understanding that resonates with the practices observed in an Ayurveda hospital. An interactive session was followed by the talk. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Poornendhu of I PG History. Head of the Departments, Staff Advisors, Teachers, Students of I PG and  III DC students of Departments of Botany & History participated in the session.
