ONE DAY SEMINAR ON BIODIVERSITY OF INDIA

Department of Zoology conducted a one day seminar on the topic “Bio Diversity of India” on 13th October 2017. 1st B.Sc. and 1st M.Sc. Zoology students participated in the seminar.  The resource persons for the day were Dr. Venktaraman and Dr. Srinivasan, ZSI, Chennai.

The seminars were conducted as two sessions. The morning session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Reema Kuriakose, HOD. It was followed by the seminar by Dr. Venkitaraman who is a senior scientist at Zoological Survey of India(ZSI) . His main focus was on the topic “ Faunal Diversity of India”. The afternoon session was spearheaded by Dr. Srinivasan who is a research associate at the Zoological Society of India(ZSI). He focused on the topic “ Marine Diversity of India”. The sessions commenced with an interactive session with the students.
