The Department of Zoology conducted a talk on Wetland Conservation and Management Awareness Campaign organized by Center for environmental studies, Scared Heart College, Thevara on 10th October, 2019 at 2 pm. The campaign was funded by the state wetland Authority Kerala (SWAK), Thiruvananthapuram. Dr. Remya R, Assistant Professor, Center for Environmental studies, SH college was the speaker. She was accompanied by Mr. Arjun P R, a P G student of SH college. The programme began with a prayer song by Sarah Maria Shaji and Anna Sebastian of 1st DC followed by a welcome speech by Pooja S Krishna of 3rd DC. Later Dr. Remya R talked about wetland and the urgent need for protecting their bio diversity hotspot. A documentary was shown on wetlands of Kochi. It was both thought provoking and informative. Pamphlets were also distributed regarding the same. In the end the speakers handed over the CD of the documentary to Dr. Meera Jan Abraham, HOD of Zoology Department followed by a vote of thanks by Aswathy A R, the association secretary. The programme was concluded with national Anthem by Nithyshree J K, Sarah maria Shaji and Aswathy A R.
