Sanskriti, the “State Wise Assignment” is an initiative by the Women’s Study Centre and the Department of Fashion Designing at St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam, aiming to highlight and celebrate the diverse cultural heritage of India’s states. This project involves an in-depth exploration of each state’s unique traditions, attire, art, and cultural practices, encouraging students to gain a deeper understanding of India’s multicultural landscape.

The students set up an ambience in a given space to represent the geographic conditions of the state and presented the traditional dances, costumes, cuisine, textiles, handicrafts, occupations, etc. The states allotted were: Jammu & Kashmir, Panjab, West Bengal, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat.
