The event was held in collaboration with the Indian Econometric Society (TIES), National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) and the Kerala Economic Association (KEA). The Conference explored the realm of knowledge on capital markets by understanding the issues pertaining to Debt and derivative markets, the trends in the global financial system and the legal framework in emerging markets.

To promote public debate and youth engagement with current economic issues, Department of Economics ,organised a talk on “Impact of Demonetisation on Indian GDP Growth”.Dr.D.Narayana, Director, Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation, Thiruvananthapuram handled the session which emphasized the plausible effect of demonetization on India’s economic growth in general and informal sector in particular.
