As part of the World Mental Health Day 2021, the Department of Psychology organized two online competitions for students with the focus of creating and spreading awareness about the importance of mental health in today’s world.

The competitions were held on 11th and 13th October 2021 through online platform in two sessions.

Just A Minute (J.A.M) Competition was conducted on 11th October Monday at 1.00 pm. The JAM Session assessed participants’ knowledge, awareness, and fluency by getting the students to speak for one minute without stammering and breaking in between. The topics were related to mental health in various settings and situations. Lalitha Sankar year from 2nd Year B.Sc Psychology bagged the First Prize for the J.A.M session. The event was judged by Asst. Prof Jisha Sekhar and Asst. Prof Neha Agness Francis.

Feel it Reel it (Reel making competition) whereby creative reels were made by students on mental health and issues. A number of reels focused on the problems faced by young women and the stigma faced by them in society. The First Prize was bagged by Ms. Angel Maria Biju of 1st Year B.Sc Psychology. The event was judged by Asst. Prof Vishnupriya V and Asst. Prof Ashya K Salim.
