On the 26th of October 2021, at 11 am BCA (CT & ISM), Department of Computer Applications hosted a felicitation program to mark the completion of the placement training program completed by the batch of 2019-22. The program was led by the MC Leah Cecil Avin of 3rd yr BCA(CT & ISM) , who commenced the event with a prayer by Maria Soby and Anumol Augustine of 2nd yr BCA(CT & ISM).The welcome speech was given by Niveda Pavitran of 3rd yr BCA(CT & ISM) who warmly welcomed the gathering of 105 via Google Meet. This was followed by a warm address from Asst. Prof Archana Menon, the Co-ordinator of the BCA (CT&ISM).
Class representative Shannon Simon recounted the details and activities of the entire placement training program. She walked the gathering though the numerous activities conducted by trainer Mr. Dipu Jojo, ranging from mock interview training, video CV creation, group discussions and student-led initiatives such as programming and speaking clubs. Afterwards, Subadra Sudhir, Manaal Kalaam, and Salna Hussain of 3rd yr BCA(CT & ISM) were invited to share their individual experiences and growth after having participated in the training program.
Awards were declared for the best-performing students in the various activities conducted throughout the training program. For “Best Video CV”, in third place Niveda P. and Leah Cecil Avin, in second place Alint Saji and Shannon Simon, and in first place Subadra Sudhir. For “Best Resume”, in third place Alint Saji and Maggy Rose, in second place Subadra Sudhir, and in first place Shannon Simon. For “Best LinkedIn Profile”, Maggy Rose and Alint Saji. For “Best Performer in Interview”, in third place Megha John, in second place Alint Saji, in first place Anna Grace.
The program concluded with some closing thoughts by Dipu Sir who shared his experiences and stories from his time training the class of 2022. He expressed his surprise and pleasure in being able to participate in such a program and congratulated all those who took part in all the activities. The program came to a close after a vote of thanks from Maggy Rose of 3rd yr BCA(CT & ISM).
