July 2012: As part of Teresian Rural Outreach Programme, The Department of English has been allotted Infant Jesus Convent, Kurisingal Parish in Vypeen. This is an ancient Christian Church built in 1573 in old Portuguese style. Ms Geethu Johny is the faculty in charge of TROP of Communicative English. On 30th July 2012 Ms Geethu Johny, Ms Surya Thamban and Ms Jenis Josy had a rendezvous with Sr. Naveena of Infant Jesus Convent. Sr. Naveena suggested enhancing the communication skills of the students of LTGLPS Ochanthuruth in Vypeen. LTGLPS Ochanthuruth, Vypeen was established in the year 1917.

After a brief discussion with Sr. Naveena, it was decided that classes would be taken for lower primary students on every alternate Fridays. Sister suggested concentrating more on the speaking skills of the students. Communication Skills classes will be based on Speaking. As it is a tender age the students will be able to mold their accent. To be successful in any field the students need to know and understand how to communicate effectively. After clarifying the dates with the school authority an Activity Calendar will be prepared.
