Internships

The Department actively encourages students to engage in field-based learning and community-oriented experiences through internships as part of the FYUGP curriculum. Students successfully completed their internships at various reputed organizations and service institutions including NPOC NGO, STC Library, Kochi Corporation, Samariya Old Age Home, and Bertoni Palliative Care Centre, Kites India, and Arike Palliative Home Care. These internships provided students with valuable opportunities to develop professional skills, gain hands-on training, and enhance their understanding of community engagement and social responsibility. Through direct interaction with organizations and beneficiaries, students were able to improve their communication, teamwork, leadership, and practical problem-solving abilities. As part of the FYUGP programme, students are required to complete a 30-hour non-credited
internship during their first year and a 120-hour credited internship during their second year. The internship programme plays a significant role in bridging academic learning with practical exposure, thereby preparing students for future professional and social commitments.
