The Department of Psychology, St. Teresa’s College, (Autonomous) Ernakulam and Jenika Foundation organized a Saree Fete and Poster Exhibition at Ernakulam District Court Bar Association on 25th November, Thursday at 10. 30 a.m. The program was inaugurated by Chief Guest Smt. Sheela Kochouseph Chittilappily who also gave the inaugural address. The program aimed to rehabilitate victims of domestic and sexual abuse, through the resale of used sarees and recycled products. A poster exhibition was also held showcasing posters created by the students of the Department of Psychology, to educate and build awareness among people about violence towards women and children. The saree fete was attended by members of the judiciary including lawyers and eminent judges from the District and High Court of Ernakulam. Members of the general public also visited the exhibition and made generous contributions to the cause.
The program helped educate and create awareness among individuals. The fund generated from the fete is being used to rehabilitate victims of domestic and sexual abuse by the Jenika Charity Foundation.
The program was coordinated by the Head of the Department Ms. Bindu John and Assistant Professor Ann Joseph.
