A captivating session titled “RASAKALPIKAM – Unleash the Power of Expression ‘Rasa’” was organized by the Bharatanatyam Department Association at St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam, on 17th February 2025. The event, which focused on exploring the nuances of rasa, the aesthetic experience in Indian classical arts, was graced by Dr. Sarita Maheshwaran, Professor and Head of the Department of Sahitya, Government Sanskrit College, Tripunithura.

Dr. Sarita Maheshwaran, a distinguished scholar and expert in Sanskrit literature and aesthetics, began the session with an in-depth exploration of rasa theory, its significance in classical dance, music, and theatre. She highlighted the historical context of rasa in the Natya Shastra and elaborated on its role as the emotional essence conveyed through art forms.The program was attended by all students and faculty of the department.
