On September 30, 2022, the Department of English and the Centre for Research staged the 12th annual literary festival and intercollegiate competition titled “Panache 2022,” which was themed “Comix.”   More than 700 other competitors from all over Kerala competed for the Sister Therese Marie ever-rolling trophy. The opening remarks of the event were delivered by Dr. Preeti Kumar, the Head of the Department of English, and Dr. Alphonsa Vijaya Joseph, the Principal, delivered the presidential address. Archana Kumar, the Association Secretary, read the report for the years 2021 and 2022. Mr. Sanid Asif Ali, a Kochi-based comic artist, and Mr. Tony Davis, a filmmaker and the founder of India’s second comic library, officially kicked off the event. They gave the inaugural speech, informed the audience about the comic festivals and exhibitions that take place in and around Kochi, and provided insight into the history of Kerala’s comic culture.

Declamation, toy photography, comic strip, cosplay, western group song, fashion show, and dance were all competitions centered on comix themes. Kripa Joemon, a third-year English student, and Dr. Maria Chakkunny set up a stall for fortune telling. The stall was visited by over forty people who had their palms read. The Vikings gave a special dance performance, and a band from Once Upon A Time performed at the end of the program. UC College, Aluva took home the overall title.
