In connection with Onam, the department of Mathematics and Statistics Celebrated Onam through Online Platform with the title “NALLONAM SREDICHONAM ‘21”.
The Onam 2O21 Celebration Day started with Dr. Claramma Thomas,The former HOD of the Department of Sociology as the Chief Guest. The programme began with the prayer invoking the blessings of Lord Almighty and the prayer song was sung by Anagha G Naik of 2nd DC Maths A Batch. The Welcome Speech was addressed by Akshitha M Prabhu of 2nd DC Maths A Batch. The hosts of the programme were Nanikha Mary and Unnimaya B both of 2nd DC Maths B Batch. Miss Alvina Biji, a former student of the Department of Mathematics, shared her beautiful memories about Department Onam Celebrations and touched every student with her memories.
The Celebration flowed with Onappaattu which was sung by 2nd DC Students Anagha G Naik, Meerna Merin, of Maths A Batch and Vrinda Vijayan, Mary Ann, and Lakshmi Karthikeyan of Maths B batch. The next was Onam skit in which the characters were performed by the Students itself in various roles that presented a stark differentiation between Earlier Onam Days and Covid created online Onam days.The programme ended with a mesmerizing Dance by the 3rd DC Maths Students in Onam Attire itself and at last the Vote of Thanks was given by Able Antonia George of 2nd DC Maths A Batch.
There were certain pre-celebrations and post onam celebrations as prior and post events to the Celebration Day on 18th August from 12pm to 1pm. The programs were:

- Malayali Manka Competition was held on 19th of August at 3 pm
JANET JOMY of 2nd DC Maths A Batch was crowned the winner and ALEENA ALOIES of 3rd DC Maths A Batch was crowned as the 1st runner-up.

The Onam Celebration with the title “NALLONAM SREDHICHONAM ’21” ended, bringing unity and cooperation among the students and the teachers too blurred the difference of being a Virtual Onam Celebration.
