The Department of Psychology, St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam conducted a Menstrual Hygiene Drive on 28th October 2021 in association with Aster Medcity Community Outreach, Kochi.

Ms. Betty Panackal Joseph and Ms. Shilmy Mary Xavier from the Nursing department of Aster Medcity took a detailed session on the use of menstrual cup as a sustainable method of menstrual hygiene. The resource persons spoke about how menstrual cups were budget friendly as it is reusable, safer than tampons, holds more blood than sanitary napkins and tampons and are eco-friendly. The different methods of using and for removing the cups were also demonstrated through video presentation.

The session was highly interactive as the resource persons addressed the questions and concerns raised by students, faculty and non-teaching staff who attended the program.

At the end of the session, Aster Medcity community outreach team consisting of Mr. Praveen Narayanan (SR. Executive, Aster community Connect), Ms. Sreeveena (Coordinator, Aster community outreach), Ms. Malavika Unni (trainee) distributed free menstrual cups to all the 80 participants
