Kochi Eco-Challenge – an initiative of Cochin Municipal Corporation, envisioned in line with the Ecosystem Restoration theme set forth by the United Nations, was launched on June 5 2021.  It aimed to give voice to youth in various educational institutions to identify various ecosystem challenges in Kochi and suggest feasible solutions to address the same. Feasible award-winning projects would be included in the Corporation’s annual budget for implementation. The project was jointly coordinated by C-Hed – the Environmental Division of Kochi Municipal Corporation and Bhoomithrasena Club, St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam.

At the culmination stage of this innovative venture, The Municipal Corporation appreciates and congratulates the efforts taken by the faculty and students of St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam towards making the project a success. We acknowledge the leadership and guidance of Dr. Lizzy Mathew (Principal)  and Dr Nirmala Padhmanabhan (Dean of Extension and Incubation), the co-operation extended by Dr.Susan Mathew Panakkal (FIC, Bhoomithrasena Club), Ms. Neenu Susan Paul, Ms. Surya Suresh Kumar (Faculty members of BMC) and the services of 20 student volunteers of the Bhoomithrasena Club of St. Teresa’s College which enabled the successful completion of Kochi Eco-Challenge.
