  • Hackverse’24, organized by InternCan and the BCA (CT&ISM) at St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam, was a two-day event designed to ignite innovation and technical expertise.
  • Held on January 19-20, 2024, the event featured a workshop on cybersecurity led by industry experts from TechByHeart, covering OSNIF, cryptography, steganography, and penetration testing.
  • The hackathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from 15 teams, engaging in a Capture the Flag (CTF) competition that challenged their problem-solving skills.
  • The event was inaugurated by Mr. Manoj Srinivasan (Dell Technologies) and honored by esteemed dignitaries.
  • With expert mentorship, industry collaborations, and exciting rewards, Hackverse’24 provided students with a platform to learn, innovate, and showcase their technical prowess in a competitive yet collaborative environment.

2016: Introduction of BCA (Cloud Technology & Information Security Management)

  • The Department of Computer Applications introduced a specialized BCA program focusing on Cloud Technology & Information Security Management (CTISM).

  • The curriculum was designed to align with industry trends, catering to the growing demand for professionals skilled in cloud computing and cybersecurity.

  • The program aimed to equip students with expertise in cloud infrastructure, security protocols, ethical hacking, network management, and data protection.

2019: First Batch (BCA 2016-19) Achieved 100% Placement

  • The BCA (CTISM) batch of 2016-19 became the first batch to achieve 100% placement, marking a significant milestone.

  • Graduates secured placements in top IT companies, cybersecurity firms, cloud service providers, and multinational corporations.

  • This achievement reflected the quality of education, practical exposure, and industry-oriented training provided by the department.

2023: Launch of the First Tech-Club Initiative ‘InternCan’

  • In the same year, the department was awarded ‘Best College’ among four cluster colleges for its outstanding achievements in academics, research, and student development.

2024: Formation of the Department of Cyber Security & Applied Computing and BCA (Hons.) Approval by AICTE

  • Recognizing the importance of cybersecurity, a dedicated Department of Cyber Security & Applied Computing was established.

  • The new department focused on advanced research, cybersecurity analytics, digital forensics, blockchain security, and AI-driven threat detection.

  • It aimed to collaborate with industry leaders to develop specialized training modules, certification courses, and cybersecurity labs.

  • Additionally, the BCA (Hons.) program received approval from AICTE, ensuring adherence to national academic standards and industry relevance.

  • The BCA (Hons.) curriculum introduced specializations, allowing students to gain deeper expertise in cybersecurity, cloud computing, AI, and data science.
