The Department of Botany has been upgraded as the Research Centre of the Mahatma Gandhi University in 1985. The centre has produced 24 Ph. D Degree till date and ten programmes are on-going. It is the oldest Research Centre of the college which has produced the first Doctoral Degree in Botany at M. G. University.
