As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements, the Kerala South region of NSO (field operations division, Govt. of India), collaborates with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of St. Teresa’s College, to organize a seminar on the topic “Role of National Statistical Office in Nation Building” on 25 November 2021 for the MSc students.

The primary objective of the session was to interact with the students to explore their possible contributions in nation building as young statisticians. The Following speakers spoke about the same Shri. A. Ganeshan ISS, Assistant Director, NSO (FOD) RO Trivandrum, Shri. Balagopal, Senior Statistical Officer, NSO (FOD), SRO Kochi, Smt. B. Maneesha, Senior Statistical Officer, NSO (FOD), SRO Kochi, Smt. Mahendri P. H, Junior Statistical Officer, NSO (FOD), SRO Kochi. There was also an interactive Q/A session at the end so that students could clear their doubts regarding the same.

Through the session, the participants were given a general idea about the work of NSO ,the prospects of  NSO etc. There were a total of 35 Beneficiaries.
