“In France, cooking is a serious art form and a national sport.”

                                                                                                                  – Julia Child

What could be more fulfilling than a plate full of heavenly food? Where flavours come together in harmony, people come together too.

The Department of French conducted an international webinar on the topic ‘Regards sur les arts de la table et la cuisine française’ on 1st December 2020. The event brought to the students an opportunity to discover French cuisine and Table decor. The key resource persons for the webinar were Madame Françoise Badie from France and Madame Colette Ramos from Spain.

The session introduced the students to a variety of international flavours- cuisines from across home-kitchens to multi-star restaurants! An example being the delicious ‘Escalopes de poulet à la moutarde’, a typical French recipe. An interesting aspect covered in the webinar was the detailing of the table décor and the table manners of the French people.

The Department is truly grateful to the two gourmets, Mme. Badie and Mme. Charbonnier, who, with their amazing presentation skills captured the attention of everyone present. The session stood out as they also shared their own personal experiences.

It was all very sweet and spicy!

‘Bon appétit!’
