Activity Description (100  – 200  words):

The department of Chemistry, ST. Teresa’s College, Ernakulum  organized a webinar  on the topic ‘Academic Counseling’ for the parents and students of III DC Chemistry  on 2nd June 2021 at 6 P.M.  through Google meet platform with the objective to create awareness amongst the parents and students on how to deal with exam stress , degrading mental health due to the pandemic among the youth etc.

The resource person for the webinar was Rev.Sr.Jane CSST (Educator, and Counseling therapist). The convenor of the programme Dr. Annu Raju, faculty member of the college, officially welcomed everyone and introduced the recourse person. The Resource person then took over and started the online session.  She indeed gave deep insights into the topic. She talked in detail about the deteriorating mental health of the students due the stress caused by the pandemic. Her ideas / inputs on how to study during online classes were insightful and were of great help which can be inculcated by students in future studies. She also talked in detail about useful ways of spending time during lockdown days.The students as well as their parents found the session very useful. The session ended with a round of discussion. Vote of thanks was then proposed by Ms. Alina Augustin , student convenor of the programme. The session officially ended at 7:30. The webinar was attended by a total of 34 students along with their parents.
