The welcome address was delivered by Ann Mary M of III BA French, following which Mrs. Sabeena Bhaskar, Head of the Department of French, addressed the gathering. Dr.Nishad V.M, the resource person for the day, Project Director of People’s Foundation, is also a visiting faculty of TBI National Institute of Technology, Calicut and the Director of Nectaries Foods, India. He started his presentation by talking about the importance of innovation in entrepreneurship. In his opinion, innovation is the most important word for an entrepreneur and society in general. He pushed everyone to bring out their innovative and creative ideas and shared his steps of taking the idea and making into reality. From his point of view the path of innovation has three steps: Ideate, Create, Validate.

First, identify a problem and gather relevant information and communicate this research effectively. Secondly, brainstorm the idea and work through the obstacles during its implementation. Last but not the least is the physical manifestation of the idea. Analyze the competency, understand the market and work through any errors that might happen in this step. He gave many examples on how this works in real life. The Government of Kerala has taken many initiatives to promote entrepreneurship in the state with programs such as KSWIFT, IDEA FEST, and the Kerala Startup Mission under the Government’s INNOVATION GRANT (KSUM). He welcomed everyone to the world of entrepreneurship and wished everyone success. The meeting concluded with the vote of thanks by Suryagayathri M. R. of I BA French.
