The Department of Psychology, St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous), organized an insightful online session on Queer Affirmative Counselling on 12th August 2025 via Google Meet. The session, held from 4:00 PM to 5:45 PM, began with a welcome address by Aisha S, Class Representative of the PG Final Year class. The resource person, Ms. Anindita Audhkhasi, a certified Queer and Trans Affirmative Therapist from IIPR with an M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology from Christ (Deemed to be) University, delivered a comprehensive presentation enriched with real-life examples and practical counselling techniques. The session equipped participants with strategies to create inclusive, empathetic, and affirming therapeutic spaces for diverse clients. The workshop enhanced students’ understanding of gender and sexual diversity, fostering cultural sensitivity and professional competence in counselling practice.
