The college library visit organized on 8th July 2024 was an enlightening experience for the first year UG students, aimed at familiarizing them with the extensive resources and facilities available. The visit was part of our ongoing efforts to enhance students’ academic skills and promote a culture of reading and research. The visit was structured into several segments to ensure comprehensive coverage of the library’s offerings: The visit commenced with a warm welcome from the Head Librarian, who introduced the library’s mission, history, and the importance of utilizing library resources. Then the students were taken on a guided tour of the library. The library visit was a resounding success, meeting its objectives and providing students with a comprehensive understanding of its resources and services. It is recommended that such visits be made a regular part of the academic curriculum to promote the effective use of the library continually.
After the session students visited college FM radio station. This visit aimed to provide students with practical insights into radio broadcasting, enhance their understanding of media operations, and inspire them to consider careers in broadcasting. The visit to the college FM station, was an enriching experience for the students. It provided a comprehensive understanding of radio station operations, practical insights into radio production, and inspired many to consider careers in media and broadcasting. The hands-on activities and interactions with industry professionals were particularly beneficial, offering real-world experience and guidance.
The library visit provided students with an understanding of the vast resources available for academic and personal growth, enhancing their research skills. Students learned how to efficiently navigate the library’s catalog system and utilize various reference materials. The radio station tour introduced students to the fundamentals of broadcasting, including technical operations and content creation. It encouraged creativity and communication skills as students participated in a mock radio show. Overall, both visits fostered a sense of curiosity and broadened students’ perspectives on available educational and extracurricular resources.
