The Department of Psychology of St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam organized an alumni meet for the academic year 2023-2024 on February 6th, 2024. The alumni meet, Reminisce, was conducted through Google Meet at 5:00 PM. The Head of the Department, Ms. Bindu John, along with the faculty members and former students from different batches, participated in the alumni meet.

The meeting began with a welcome speech by Assistant Professor Ms. Princy Thobias, followed by an address from Ms. Bindu John, the HOD. Ms. Bindu John shared her insights and feelings with the former students. Then, the students were asked to introduce themselves and talk about what they are currently doing. Some of them are pursuing their masters, while others are working. One of them is also pursuing her PhD. The students were also asked to share their experiences. Many of them spoke about how they miss the college and how their current colleges differ from STC.

Assistant Professors Ms. Jisha Sekhar and Ms. Anjitha Venugopal also shared their thoughts and experiences with their former students. Former students Ms. Princy Thobias, Ms. Hajira K. M., and Ms. Lakshmi Nair, who are now working as Assistant Professors in STC, also shared their new experiences.

Videos of different batches were shown to help the students reminisce about their good old days. The students expressed their happiness that the department organized such an alumni meet, as it gave them a chance to see everyone, especially their teachers, again.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Assistant Professor Ms. Hajira K. M. The outcome of the activity was that it helped the teachers and former students to reconnect and understand the current status of each other’s lives. It also helped them identify who to reach out to for help since they all share a similar background in psychology. This can be beneficial for them in planning their future in the field.
