The event, national Webinar on ‘Ecosystem Restoration’, was held on the 5th of June 2021, so as to commemorate the starting of UN’s Decade of Environmental Restoration. The event started off with a small introduction by the MC, Ms. Punya Raj Panicker, which was followed by a prayer song by Ms. Surya Gayatri and Ann Maria. The welcome address by Ms. Philosona Tobias was next and the HOD, Mrs. Sabeena Bhaskar addressed the gathering. The resource person Mr. Sanjeev T. K, is the National Coordinator for Environment Education with Wildlife and We Protection Foundation. He also serves as a visiting professor for the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Kannur and has an experience of more than 23 years in the fields of education and research, whilst also having conducted more than 400 workshops all across India. The speaker started out by sharing a thought triggering video on how the actions of humans can affect other living species, far and wide around the world ; whilst emphasising on the importance of organic farming with respect to urban landscape and the pivotal role it plays in the restoration of the environment. He encouraged an interactive session with the participants and pushed everyone to be the change and do whatever we can from our part to help our environment, start a small organic garden of our own, try composting the biodegradable waste produced at home and so forth. The event was concluded by the vote of thanks by Ms. Adhila Anwar.
