The inauguration ceremony of HACKRUN 2024, themed “Run for Digital Security,” took place at St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam on 26th February 2024. This event marked a significant milestone in promoting the statewide initiative Hackrun – aimed at promoting digital security awareness across Kerala.
The ceremony began with the esteemed presence of Shri Pramod YT, Sub Inspector, Cyber Cell Police Commissionerate, Ernakulam, who delivered a compelling speech emphasizing the critical need for cybersecurity awareness in today’s interconnected world.
Dignitaries present included Sajad Chembukan, CEO of TechByHeart, Shimil Mohandas, Chairman and Managing Director of Anshi Group, and Ms. Veena Antony, Faculty of the Department of BCA(CT&ISM) and Mr.Shekeil, Captain of HackRun. Following the welcome speech delivered by Sairanna Elsa, Ms. Veena Antony, representing the Department of BCA (CT&ISM) delivered the Presidential address, emphasizing the significance of the event as part of the larger statewide initiative. Ms. Ashwitha Sajeevan conveyed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants for their valuable contributions.
Mr. Shekeil, Head of Hackrun, presented souvenirs to the dignitaries as a token of appreciation, marking the special occasion and acknowledging their support towards the statewide initiative. Ms. Veena Antony, on behalf of the Department of BCA (CT&ISM), presented a memento to Mr. Sajad Chembukan, recognizing his leadership and contribution to promoting digital security awareness.
Following the official ceremony, Vishnu AR, Senior Security Analyst at Valuemeter, conducted an interactive session, who shared practical demonstrations on phishing techniques. The session aimed to equip attendees with hands-on knowledge to enhance their cybersecurity awareness and preparedness.
In the Chief guest’s address, the spokesperson thanked all stakeholders for their commitment to the statewide initiative and commended their efforts in fostering a secure digital environment. HACKRUN 2024 represents a significant step forward in promoting digital security awareness, with events held across districts and engaging with several colleges statewide.
