Workshop on “Stoking Imagination in Classroom Teaching” for M.Sc Child Development students

 

A workshop on Stoking imagination in classroom teaching was organized by the Department of Home Science and Centre for Research for the Child Development Postgraduate students on 3rd September 2019. The objective of the workshop on “Stoking Imagination in Classroom teaching” was to provide hands-on experiential teaching experiences for the students to incorporate in their teaching internship in schools.

The need for  Experiential Learning, Participatory Learning, Activity Based Learning, Group, and Individual Learning and Involvement and Skill-based learning in classrooms were emphasized in the workshop. Importance of movement in classrooms and use of innovative teaching aids, creation of storyboards for concept transaction for experiential teaching and Preparation of storyboard and enacting the story concept with the available resources were also dealt with.
