Workshop on Learn How to Make Chocolates at Home !

Learn to make chocolates at home in three days! A three day online workshop on “Learn how to Make Chocolates At Home” was organized by the department of B. Voc Food Processing Technology for the second and third year students from 18th-20th July 2020. The workshop was conducted via Zoom from 11:00 am to 1:00pm.

Resource Person

Mrs. Kavitha Rajeevkumar, the owner of “Rohini Treats” was the chief resource person. She  started chocolate making  17 years back. Undoubtedly, she is a pioneer in online selling of Chocolates in Kerala. Also, she  trains individuals to set up their home business as well as online business.

Chocolates are mostly purchased from markets. It is rare to find anyone making it at their own homes.  Mostly because, people are unaware how to make it. During the three day workshop, Mrs. Kavitha Rajeevkumar spoke about the how one can make chocolate at homes and how it can be converted into a business by anyone. She also gave insights into the strategy for setting up a home business as well as online business. Last, but not the least, she also demonstrated how to make chocolates live. Overall, the workshop was highly informative and inspirational. It gave students motivation and confidence to take their baby steps in setting up their own businesses.

Rohini Treats” is a bespoke gourmet gifting service. It is located at Pandarachira Road, Kadavanthra, Kochi, Kerala. They offer chocolate gifts, tray arrangements, chocolate bouquets, chocolate gift baskets and boxes. Additionally, they specialize in making more than 350 varieties of handcrafted chocolates. Their highlights include cupcakes (orange, lemon,strawberry,chocolate and vanilla), cookies(wheat oatmeal, chocolate chip, wheat oats raisin, wheat jaggery, raggi), chocolates (chocolate fudge, plain dark, plain white, plain milk etc.) and cakes(blueberry, chocolate, red velvet, wheat carrot).
