The department of Food Processing Technology had organised five days hands on training on Microbiology techniques for II UG and I PG students. Ms. Priyanka PS was the convenor and Ms. Nikkitha Susan Varghese and Anna Aleena Paul were the co-convenors of the training. The session was handled by Ms. Lakshmi S Menon (Microbiologist, DDRC SRL, Calicut). The programme aimed to enhance the skill of students on analysis of food samples for its microbiological quality as well as to have a skill-based practice on the techniques for isolation and identification of microorganisms from samples. The expert has also provided a thorough knowledge about principle, functioning and maintenance of equipment used in the microbiology lab.
