Commemoration of World Diabetes Day, 2020 by Department of Home Science

Nutrition Health Education With World Diabetes Day:

It is the Department of Home Science and Centre For Research. Therefore with the association of Nutrition Society of India and NetProFan Kochi Chapter. And so it is developed by Nutrition Health education(NHE). As a result the material is in the form of posters and Videos. Like with the  series for ten days from the 14th of November to the 23rd of November 2020. The videos of recipes suitable for Diabetic individuals with posters of pertinent dietary guidelines. Because it is developed by the Post Graduate students of Food Science and Nutrition. And so with the guidance from the faculty members. Globally, an estimated 422 million adults were living with the diabetes in 2014. The global prevalence of diabetes rise from 4.7 to 8.5 in adult population, 1980.

WDD is the primary global awareness campaign. The theme for World Diabetes Day 2020 is “The Nurses and Diabetes”. As a result in response with the rapid rise of diabetes around the world.

 

Aim of WDD:

The World Diabetes Day campaign aims to be of two types,

Platform to promote IDF advocacy efforts throughout the year.

Global driver to promote the importance of taking coordinated.

An an concerted action to comfort diabetes as a critical global health issue.

Every year, the World Diabetes Day campaign focuses on a dedicated theme that runs for one or more years. For example, the theme for World Diabetes Day 2020 is the nurse and diabetes. Therefore WDD is the world’s largest awareness campaign. An by reaching a global audience of over 1 billion people in more than 160 countries. WDD became an official UN in 2006. The WDD 2018 campaign promotes universal health coverage. So for affordable and equitable access to diabetes management. It includes improving the knowledge and capacities of people with diabetes. WDD is truly international event.  And so having an Distinctive logo is an essential part of spreading the message about diabetes.
