Student Enrichment Programme and World Environment Day celebrations 2016

As part of the Student Enrichment Programme and the World Environment Day celebrations , a one-day UGC sponsored seminar on the topic ‘Biodiversity Conservation Envisaging Ecosystem Changes’ was conducted by the Department of Botany, for the Degree, Post Graduate students and Research Scholars on 28.06.2016 in the Department of Botany. Student Representatives of the neighboring colleges also took part.

Eminent Environmentalist and Chief Guest Sri. Neelakandan C. R. delivered the inaugural address and spoke on the topic. He convinced the students on the need for interconnectivity and interdependence of living beings on earth and the importance of nurturing and protecting the links of this connected world to maintain ecological balance.

 

 

Saplings of fruit trees and avenue trees were distributed to parents and students. Dr. C M Joy, Retd. Professor in Botany and renowned Environmentalist also delivered a valuable lecture on Biodiversity Conservation
