Teacher’s retirement celebration

The Department of Botany and Centre for Research conducted a retirement function to Dr. Elsam Joseph and Dr. Liza Jacob on 20th of March,2024 in the Arts Auditorium at 1.30 pm. Dr. Alphonsa Vijaya Jospeh, Principal, St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam, Dr. Romly Margaret Mendez, Dean of Examinations, Head of Department, Dr. Liza Jacob, Botany Association staff advisor Dr. Aghil Soorya A, teachers of the department, B.Sc. and M.Sc. students and research scholars of the department attended the program. Alumni teachers graced the celebration with their presence. The program was conducted in the hall decorated with reusable lights and lamps. The program started with a prayer song by Ms. Gargi Mohan of III UG, followed by a welcome speech by Smt. Nishita I.K. Beautiful memories of Elsam Mam and Liza Mam and a heartfelt gratitude was delivered by the Marykutty Mam, retired teacher, Principal, and representatives from the Association, Ms. Sandra Johnson , I PG , Aleena , II PG and Sheba, research scholar. A gratifying speech was delivered by Elsam Mam and Liza Mam that moved the hearts of all the audience. A momento by Botany association was given to both the teachers by principal. A token of love from our hearts were gifted to them  by the Association Executive members. The official function concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Fathima Faiha N of I PG. 9  stunning cultural performances of students were presented as their token of love towards Elsam mam and Liza mam. The Cultural programmes included 2 duet songs, 2 group songs, 4 group dances, 1 semi-classical dance,  and a tribute video. Refreshments such as snacks were served outside the auditorium as boxes that are taken to home and juice in reusable glasses. The decorative lights and lamps were saved for future use. The entire program was conducted strictly following the Green Protocol.
