St.Teresa’s College Got State award for Energy Conservation in 2018. Actually, Energy is necessary for industrial and technological development in this as well as in other countries too. Energy conservation decreases the amount of energy used for different purposes. As a result, it increases financial capital, environmental value, national as well as personal security, and human comfort. It plays a significant role in lessening climate change. This helps the replacement of non-renewable resources with renewable energy. Energy conservation is often the most inexpensive solution to energy shortages. It is the more environmentally kind alternative to increased energy production. It is the of the easiest processes to help the globe by means making use of natural energy.
The Department of Physics launched Initiatives for CONservation of Nature and Energy Coordinated by Teresians (I – CONNECT ) on 18th December 2017. It was inaugurated by honorable MLA of Ernakulam, Sri Hibi Eden.
Another feather is added to the Green-cap of St.Teresa’s College as the college bagged State Award for Energy Conservation under Institution category for the year 2017-18. The Award is a recognization for all Energy conservation extension activities under the banner of I CONNECT, Department of Physics. I CONNECT has been proactive in reaching out to the local community for conserving Energy by conducting several workshops. And awareness programs on LED bulb assembling for women and students. Then conducting Detailed Energy Audit of the college and making the campus incandescent-free.
