Silk and Silk Mark- An awareness

The Department of Fashion Designing conducted an awareness program on Silk and Silk Mark in association with Silk Mark Organisation Of India, Central Silk Board, Palakkad on 23rd January 2020 at Sr. Beatrice A.V Room, Science Block.

Silk Mark is the only assurance label available for 100% pure silk. It is an initiative by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India and administrated by Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles- Government of India.

 

This awareness program about silk and silk mark gave an opportunity for the students to get more information on silk.

 

 

 

 

The exhibition of different Silk products, Silkworms, New technologies, etc was very informative.

 

 

 

From the class, students got knowledge about

1. Silk Marks and its importance.

2. How Silk is made from SilkWorms.

3. Identification of good silk.

4. New projects by Government in the Silk field.
