The Women’s Study Centre (Department of Fashion Designing and Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics), St. Teresa’s College conducted a self-defense awareness campaign for the students.
Self-defense is of much important in the kind of the world we live today, especially for girls. With the increase in the number of crimes around us, it is inevitable that a woman is aware how to protect herself.
With this aim the department organized a one day workshop on creating awareness and learning self defense tips for the students at the Gym Plaza, Science Block, St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam on 11th January 2018 at 11.00 a.m. in collaboration with the PINK SHIELD which is a free self defense campaign for women initiated by Lubaina Kalari Sangam. The instructors from Pink Shield were Mr. Abdul Jaleel Gurukkal (Grand Master), Mr. Mujeeb Rahman, Capt. Vineed Vincent and Ms. Sherin Susan.
The workshop was very beneficial for the students and helped them to prepare themselves for unexpected situations.
