As a part of the National Handloom Day Celebrations, The Fashion Designing Department of St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam conducted 3 events :- TESORO – A fashion show to launch the kids wear. The students of B.Sc Apparel and Fashion Design, Post Graduate Diploma in Fashion Designing and Masters Programme in Fashion Designing students designed and presented 52 kids wear garments using the coloured handloom mundu from Chendamangalam to bring awareness about the immense versatility of handloom mundu. The Tesoro kids wear collection impeccably fused traditional handloom techniques with contemporary design sensibilities. By integrating their skills into the world of kids wear fashion, we aimed to empower these artisans while preserving their rich heritage. ONAM RENDEZVOUZ – An exhibition cum sale by alumni of the department. LAVANYA – A handloom saree contest for the faculty members at the Platinum Jubilee Auditorium of the college on 8th August 2023.
