Hands on Training – “NURTURE -CHOCO DREAMS” (15th – 16th FEBRUARY 2021)

The Department of Food processing technology established our first incubation cell “NURTURE”. As part of this a  two-day training program CHOCO-DREAMS on chocolate making was conducted for self help groups/home makers which emphasised on the need for home makers to set up their own  start-ups.. The registration fees for the training were Rs.150/- per head. The training was on 15th& 16th February 2021.Around 7 participants joined for the training. The venue for the training was a food processing lab.

Different kinds of chocolate like caramel chocolate, dry fruits chocolate,chilly chocolate, tutti-frutti chocolate etc. was demonstrated and  also packaging technology, food safety licensing procedure, Day 2, begin with the demonstration of chocolates by Alviya V E and Shibina Xavier which includes chilly chocolate, tutti-frutti chocolate and many more. Pavithra A R shows the participants about the cost analysis and about the business aspects. As a conclusion Varsha presented about the different types of packing used for chocolates and Alvina explained about the legal formalities, government laws  andfssai regulations for  starting a business. After this training programme one of our participant Ms. Sangeetha S started her business venture called Choco-dreams as per fssai regulations.
