Golden Jubilee Celebrations – Events

As part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations, the Department of Zoology has organized the following events:

• A Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration on January 7th 2011
• Poster Exhibition-“Glimpses of Majesty” on the National Animal “The Royal Bengal Tiger” and “Wild Life” on 21st January 2011.
• Nature Study camp to Vazhachal 11th -13th February 2011
• Talk on Thyroid related problems and Thyroid testing Camp for Parents, Old Students and public on February 25th 2011.
• UGC Sponsored National Seminar and Workshop on Animal Welfare and Humane Education in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi-Doerenkamp Center (MGDC) for Alternatives to Use of Animals in Life Science Education, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli on 15th March 2011
• Initiated a project for degree students in collaboration with Dr. Rath Research Institute, USA on creating awareness on Nutritional Medicines among the public.
• Golden Jubilee Project- Plastic Free Zone – Sale of Jute Bags at subsidized rates at annual OSA Sale on December 7^th, 2011.
  
• Instituted Sr. Carmelita Ever Rolling Trophy by the Department of Zoology to the winners (Assumption College, Changanacherry) in the M.G. University Intercollegiate Basket Ball Tournament held on 31st January 2012.
• Golden Jubilee Valedictory Function and Old Students Meet were held on 10th March 2012. Rev. Sr. Carmelita, foundress of the department released the “Golden Jubilee Newsletter” by giving the first copy to the Principal Rev. Dr. Sr. Treasa. Gladys Francis, Head of the Department presented the Report of the activities of Golden Jubilee Year.
