Anemia??? “Anemia is a condition in which you lack enough hemoglobin in your RBCs to carry adequate oxygen to your body’s tissues.”
Anemia Awareness Program On 3rd of November 2021, thanks to the Department of Home Science’s Anemia Screening and Awareness Program, students and teachers from Department of French and MTTM got the opportunity to discuss about their health worries with professional nurses, to get their red blood cells (hemoglobin concentration) tested, to get nutrition and healthy life habits advices during a personal diet counseling meeting!
Aplastic anemia:
Sickle cell anemia:
Pernicious anemia:
Pernicious anemia occurs when the body can’t absorb enough vitamin B12 from food because it lacks a protein in the stomach called intrinsic factor, caused by autoantibodies to intrinsic factor or parietal cells. If you lack intrinsic factor, there is nothing you can do to prevent pernicious anemia caused by this.
Pernicious anemia can run in families, so having family members with the condition puts you at risk.
