Vishal Halawai, Assistant Professor, French, St. Claret College in association with the Department of French of St. Teresa’s College, hosted a webinar on the topic “La langue française dans la vie quotidienne” on the 17th of February 2023.
During this interactive session he explained the concepts of “faux-amis” to students, proved that English and French have a lot in common and gave examples. Did you know that some expressions we use in English are actually French? He also taught the students that every language has exceptions, not only the French language and that they are here for a reason: to avoid confusion. Using everyday French vocabulary, he demonstrated that learning French is not as hard as it seems.
