The students of the Second year PG Diploma in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics along with Ms.Minitha Susan Joseph and Ms. Sarin Sara Jose provided Community Nutrition awareness programme to the residents of Saanthwanam residents association. The camp was focused on imparting awareness on diet management of non-communicable diseases especially obesity, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, and hypertension. Talks were provided by the student dietitians based on these topics. Informative charts on nutrition and wellness were put up and explained to the participants. Health assessment based on anthropometry; ie., height, weight and BMI, blood pressure monitoring and random blood glucose level detection was done as part of the programme under the guidance of a medical practitioner.

The students of the Second year PG Diploma in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics along with Ms.Minitha Susan Joseph and Ms. Sarin Sara Jose provided Nutrition awareness programme with special emphasis on breastfeeding in connection with World Breastfeeding Week to the Mothers of children under age 3 in collaboration with ICDS, Kuttamassery, Aluva. Assessment of height, weight, and BMI was conducted for the participants. Talks on the diet for pregnant/ lactating mothers, nutrition for preschool and need of immunization was imparted. Blood pressure monitoring and random blood glucose level detection was also done free of cost.

The students of first-year Masters in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics along with Ms. Surya M Kottaram and Ms. Rajani in collaboration with ICDS, Palluruthy Block set Nutrition awareness camp in connection with National Nutrition week celebrations. The target group was the Mothers of children under age 3. Ms. Surya M Kottaram served as a Judge for the recipe contest using ‘Amrutham’ Nutrition Supplement mix. A nutrition and wellness stall was put up in the venue and assessment of height, weight and BMI were conducted for the participants. Informative charts on nutrition and wellness were put up and explained to the participants.
