The Research Advancement Programme

The Research Advancement Programmeinitiated by the Department of Home Science – Re AP is an interdisciplinary Research Fair, which is held every year to inspire, motivate and empower researchers in various fields. Re AP seeks to fulfill the following objectives.

  • Provide an opportunity for researchers to enable knowledge transfer among fellow scholars
  • Guide researchers emerging trends/ trends areas of study.
  • Explore innovative strategies for advanced research.

The Department of Home Science, St. Teresa’s College, in association with Kerala Council for Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) conducted the Interdisciplinary Research Fair – ReAP (Research Advancement Programme) to inspire, motivate and empower researchers on 6th December 2017.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. V.S. Jayakumar, Director, Mar Baselios Institute of Technology; Trivandrum who delivered the Keynote address on “How to plan and Design an Innovative R& D programme?” Director Dr. Sr. Vinitha presided over the session and Principal Dr. Sajimol Augustine M. offered felicitations. Dr. Betty Rani Isaac, HOD Home Science welcomed the gathering.  Other highlights of this year’s programme were sessions handled by Dr. Sreejesh from the Department of Management Studies, CUSAT and “Better Coping Skills for Researchers?” by Dr. Thandavamoorthy, Principal, Sapient College of Commerce and Management, Mysore. Both paper and poster presentations were done from a wide range of faculties both Social sciences and Humanities.

The focal theme of ReAP 2017 was “Advances in Research”. Nearly 150 delegates consisting of Faculty members, Research Scholars and PG / UG students of took part as delegates. Both Oral and Poster presentations were conducted. The best presentation skills were assessed and awarded with cash prizes. The articles which are presented is to be published as Proceedings with ISBN soon. Ms. Rose Mary Francis, Asst. Professor and Sr. Shelsy Antony, Asst. Professor from the Dept. of Home Science were the Conveners of this year’s Programme.
