SURVEY ON FOOD HABITS OF ADOLESCENTS

As a part of teresian outreach program (TROP) the students of II Msc Food Science and Nutrition went to government higher secondary school Vennala on 16 of January 2019. The major objective of the visit was to analyse the dietary pattern of adolescents aged between 15-17  yrs including both girls and boys and  to plan and conduct appropriate  nutritional education to the students .

The study was undertaken among 100 students studying in 10th standard using a close ended questionnaire. The questions mainly emphasized to find their eating pattern, exercise ,  and other daily routine .  Also the students took height and weight of the samples to analyses their nutritional status regarding growth and development. The results thus collected was used to conclude their lifestyle pattern and provide the basis of nutrition education to change their behavior towards unhealthy eating.
