As part of the ongoing “Professional Grooming Series” offered by the Placement and Career Guidance Cell within the Department of Psychology at St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous) in Ernakulam, a One Day Workshop titled “Redefining Priorities: Conquering Stress and Mastering Time” was conducted on August 18th, 2023, from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. This workshop was exclusively tailored for first-year postgraduate students of Psychology.
In a collaborative effort with Saintgits Institute of Management, Kottayam, the primary focus of the program was to provide a comprehensive orientation to time management and stress management. Facilitating this insightful workshop were Ms. Shino Abraham and Mr. Cyriac Jose, Assistant Professors from Saintgits Institute of Management, Kottayam.
The workshop was divided into two impactful sessions. Asst. Prof. Shino Abraham took the lead in the first session, where she eloquently underscored the significance of perception in both professional and personal spheres. Her session was characterized by a variety of interactive activities and games that instilled a shared sense of purpose—enhancing their levels of activity and teamwork. Ms. Shino also delved into the critical realm of time management, emphasizing its crucial role in managing one’s affairs productively.
The second half of the workshop, masterfully led by Asst. Prof. Cyriac Jose was dedicated to self-discovery. Through thought-provoking activities and self-assessment exercises, Asst. Prof. Jose guided the students in recognizing their unique abilities and potential. Additionally, he offered valuable insights into diverse career opportunities available to psychology students and shared his personal experiences in making career choices.
The workshop left an indelible impact, equipping the first-year postgraduate students with essential grooming tips and empowering them to navigate stress and time management effectively in both their professional and personal lives.
